I’m Sarah, and I love words. (My current favourite is ‘clarificatory’.) I provide writing, editing and proofreading services to publishers, businesses and charities.

clarificatory adj. /ˌklarɪfɪˈkeɪt(ə)ri/
That which makes a statement or situation less confused and more comprehensible.

Following five years’ editorial work in-house for publishers including Hodder & Stoughton, I’ve been freelance since 2006. My experience is backed up by a BA degree in Linguistics and English Language, an MA in Language Studies, and industry-standard training in copywriting, editing and proofreading. I’m a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) and a member of ProCopywriters and the Society of Authors.

I ensure that any words leaving my desk do so with all the apostrophes in the right places, so you can be assured of compelling copy and engaged readers. You’re welcome to read my samples and references, and I look forward to working with you.
